It's funny how things work out.  Just when I'd about had it with the ups-and-downs in band-land, I get a call from a guy interested in trying out for the bassist position.  Long story short, it worked out fantastically, and I now have a committed, dynamic 3-piece.  Jordan (drums) and Ed (bass) are both great players who I really get along with well ( Read more... )

It's been a bit of a circus in the land of The Tricycle Wipeout- line-up changes, flakes, practice space woes and more.  But I'm chipping away at the issues:

1) Practice space settled
2) Drummer confirmed
3) 2nd prctice with Bassist and potential 2nd guitarist (will know soon)
4) EP recorded and mastered, and demo art mockups done.

Maybe I was being too naive, but I'm surprised at how flaky musicians can be.  After having really benefited from playing with Mark and Jack for the last couple of years, I'm finding it challenging to reform the band.  Just washed through a drummer and two bassists with poor communication and commitment issues, I'm back to sqare one, while on the ( Read more... )

Wow, yesterday Jack said he was quitting, and today I have a new bassist!  It's either Alex Osorio (AMAZING bassist and guitarist) or Kyle's friend Derek, in which case Alex will join as our second guitarist.  I can't believe things are resolving themselves so quickly.  I hope the people who came because of Mark and Jack will still be friends of ( Read more... )
