Hummus / Tahini?

Any ideas where I can get bulk quantities of hummus? Those tiny Tesco pots are never enough.

Failing that how about some tahini (seasame seed paste) so I can make my own.

Oh, I just tend to make my own now, because I tend to eat it by the bucket load too. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to buy tahini (so if you find it anywhere...point me in the right direction!), so I end up just sticking a tin of chick peas, a splash of lemon juice, a couple of cloves of garlic, olive oil and some ground black pepper into a bowl, and whizzing it up with a hand blender. It's as close as I can get to the real thing, and it does taste good. Even better is when you roast a red pepper, then blend that in too. You can get really quite creative with it!

I will do, that sounds like the stuff I buy, the red pepper stuff, I've never used our hand blender and I've not got good experiences of using blenders in general in the past.

Yeah I just wanted the base of normal hummus then I can go mad with the rest of it.

Bulk - you can get from Costco! I was there last Saturday - you need to be a member though and it takes 45 minutes to get there.

11 pm at night humous craving? 24 hour Scotmid on Leith Walk across from where I used to live! It has humous!

Cinders.

I'm pretty sure my mum buys tahini from health food shops on a regular basis, you can buy a decent-sized jar of it for a couple of quid from places like holland & barratt or real foods on broughton st
