So I've been seeing this psychologist on a somewhat regular basis since June. She is very cordial and has given me some very practical insight as far as modifying certain behaviors and thinking errors, and I do enjoy the objectivity she affords me, but I don't think I can continue to see her. The first therapist I ever saw did the same kinds of things, and after 3 months i gave up on him. I think he ended up screwing me up further because he gave me a very bad view of therapy is. He would ask me about my drinking and just shame me for it. Even I knew that wasn't the right way to go about it.

If you want, I can forward you info about my current guy...he is really good. He has done a lot for me...although if you're opposed to seeing a male doctor, I would understand.

That would be great. Thank you! And yeah, it's never okay for a therapist to pass judgment on his or her patient.
