Don't get me started on the whole Men Don't Wear Heels thing. And yes, I think maybe women do just function through the pain, they see it as a badge of honour to put up with pain in the name of whatever.... even the quite feminist woman here at work likes wearing heels and doesn't agree with my footbinding comment. I'm sounding far LESS militant about this than I actually feel! Your shoes sound lovely though: I have actually heard of Irregular Choice - I saw some in a shop and looked them up on the net. Some great patterns! and some really nasty ones too... and mostly with heels...

Hope your bubble didn't burst! xx

Mrs. Henry-the-Cow suggests that people with longer feet find it easier to wear high heels, because of the square of the hypotenuse.

I assume the main reason that men don't wear heels was that we are, on average, taller than women, and women who wear heels do so to compete on the same level, as it were. (Sadly, tall people are often deferred to - I read somewhere that in elections, the taller candidate tends to win).
