Sadly, (per wikipedia) the Palmer Method was not developed until 1888 and Dickens died in 1870. If only he were subjected to the script alphabet of our childhood.

Nuns, however, have existed since the dawn of time. And possibly before. And possibly the same ones.

Might be. :) Unless you also had abusive teachers? I expect that's not as tolerated in the public school system, but I could be completely wrong.
