Accidental Voice Post #1

[There's a dull thud of his Dreamberry dropping to the floor as Eliot accidentally nudged the phone off of something.

Apparently, the boy decided to pick it up later. There's some quiet shuffling for a moment, before this song starts playing, somewhat muted as the phone was face down on the floor ( Read more... )

[Noel was scrolling through the network when she sees a familiar name on a post. Curious, she checked it, and was surprised to hear a beautiful piano melody. It was relaxing, and somewhat nostalgic... She was so absorbed in listening, that she couldn't help but let out a very audible shriek at the sudden slamming of the keys and outburst.]

Aaaah!

[... Crap, she gave herself away.]

[His shoulders jerked as his hands froze on the keys. His head whipped around to look at the living room behind him, but... No one was there. It was a few moments before he realized that the voice he heard kind of sounded like it was coming from beneath him... The dreamberry?

He leaned over the bench to pick up the phone, turning it over in one hand to check if someone could be broadcasting something... No, he actually was getting a call, and oh look! That name's familiar!]

You were eavesdropping on me through this thing?!

[Being accused of eavesdropping causes Noel to sputter a jumbled response, and the distress in her voice made it obvious she was on the verge of tears. Again.]

N-N-N-No! I wasn't...! I-I was about to leave you alone, but I was so absorbed in listening to that song that I just blanked out! I-I'm sorry... It's just... it felt very nostalgic.

[Eliot nearly brought his hands to his face. God, not this again. How many times had he dealt with this since he met her.]

Just... Calm down and tell me how you managed to get into my Dreamberry. It was off. Don't tell me they let people spy on everyone else now.

[... Curse you sensitive Dreamberry broadcast button. Curse you.]

It's a song I wrote. What about it?

That can't be right.

Actually, it can. I already told you back at Latowidge, remember?

[Huh. He's actually enjoying listening to this one. Because hey, he reads and has an ear for music when he wants to. The slam though is unexpected.]

Well...it sounded good till that part.

[He's mumbling.]

No one asked you...

I managed to figure that one out all by myself.

[He glares at the phone at the remark, but he knew that he was the one who shouldn't have been broadcasting like that. He brought this on himself, and he had to deal with it... Wow, he was actually beginning to think about what Reo would say to him even without Reo there.]

Sorry for the disturbance. [Yep. apologize and get it over with quick, then move on.]

[...that song.

She had been caught in a trance. It was that song, the one that had called for her...but...

And it wasn't long before her thoughts were interrupted. She huffs.]

What the hell was that last part about?

Why are you even asking? It's got nothing to do with you.

[He knew damn well why he did it, but it's not something he's giving up easily. Alice probably wouldn't have known why he wrote that song, so it probably was pointless to explain what got into him... Which he wouldn't have even had to worry about if he actually knew he had an audience.]

Tch. That song...sounds familiar. That's all.

Everyone keeps saying that.

[... What the hell was going on?! After already being torn over the fact that he wrote the song for his mother, who he may have to tell of another dead sibling, but now everyone and their mother seems to already know his song.]

[Maka flinches a little when the keys were unexpectedly slammed upon, remaining silent for a moment, until--]

Excuse me, but I think you left your Dreamberry on!

[Ugh.... He was really hating the Dreamberry right now.]

I noticed. Sorry.

No need to apologize, it kinda seemed like you didn't mean to. Still, your playing was nice.

[Wow. The conversation had gotten past two sentences, and he didn't have any reason to be annoyed yet. That was starting to happen more often...]

Uh.... Thanks, I guess? [He definitely hadn't been fishing for compliments. After a recent dream of his, the song had kept coming back to him, and it kept reminding him of things he had been trying to get over.]
