A Question of Territory, Part Two

Jan 16, 2007 10:06

Horace felt strange, knocking on the door of his old chambers, but the warning wards on the door had hinted at rather unpleasant consequences when he tried to simply walk in.

The door cracked open just enough to allow a thin beak of a nose to poke out, as though sniffing for trouble.

“Yes?” snapped That Boy.

“Ah, Severus! Just popping ( Read more... )

No, my Slug isn't a paedophile, but it would be very easy to make him so with what we are given in canon. All those intimate Slug Club meetings, his 'special favourites' etc. I just think he's a bit out of touch with the modern school system and too set in his ways to recognise the fact. Snape is going to answer back soon, have no fear! He was only so quiet in this part because he was trying very very hard to stop himself from reaching for the slug-pellets.

Oh, I must say I interpreted this installment quite differently from marionros, above - I thought Sluggy was *adorable*! It was so sweet, and a little sad the way he didn't realise his advise and attentions were unwelcome (i.e. assuming that 'an odd gust of wind' made the door slam). I also love the bits of dry humour you put in here, like:

“You see, none of ‘em seem frightfully fond of you. They cower away from your presence, press themselves into the architecture when they see you coming, that sort of thing.”

and

“I know you’ve not been in the job for very long…”

“Fifteen years,” interrupted Snape.

“Yes, not very long at all,” beamed Horace

Admittedly he was pretty insensitive about the decor etc., surely he was trying to help?

*snuggles Horace*

*tries to snuggle Severus too* *avoids suspiciously thrown hexes...*

More please, soon! :-)

Slughorn still believes he's senior to 'That Boy' Snape, though he is fond of him, in his own sluggy way. He just thinks of him as still being a teenager and therefore in need of support from wiser grown-ups, as people often do with younger acquaintances whom they have known since they were small. No malice intended at all.
So glad you enjoyed it, these two are so much fun, SN x

Thank you, again! I am really enjoying these two interacting, the Slug is a lot like Albus but without the perceptive people skills, I think. It's fun exploring Snape's relationship with an adult Slytherin who isn't a known Death Eater - there aren't many (any?) of them in canon.

The curdlled milk! Goodness me! Yes! This is excellent humor, just what I needed after finding out I was...involuntarily volunteered, for lack of a better term, to bake a cheesecake for a neighborly get together...
Now, then, can I please nag for more AD/SS? especailly now that they have their own wonderful community set up (severusplease, in case you were not aware.) Perhaps you can post what you have written there...?
Much love,
Grace

Ooh, you make cheesecake? *sidles closer to IllicitGrace, fluttering lashes*
The milk didn't stand a chance with such poisonous resentment pouring off Snape, or perhaps there was some other-worldly objection from Eileen over the teapot? She doesn't seem like a woman who would favour flowery tableware.

I saw SeverusPlease featured on Daily Snitch and joined the moment I saw it! Brilliant idea, and long overdue! I'm thinking about the next chapter of the ADSS (note to self - find a title!) but am a bit caught up in my LMSS, Study Sessions, at the moment so it might take a while. Thanks for remembering it though! Nice to hear from you, SN x
