5 days to Peru
and I ran a brain tumor 5k this morning. Yay for FINALLY giving money to a cause I believe in. 36:30, which is a little (like 30 sec) higher than my last time, but still pretty good, and I'm not too upset. oh yeah
and the hiking last week was quite good! There were a few climbs and a few places I got woozy, but mostly great. And I ate an entire bag of turkey pepperoni. Protein converts to energy slower than carbs, so I just tried to eat a few every time we stopped. I got to go swimming in TWO mountain lakes, and under waterfalls in both cases. So very cool. I haven't had any carbs in 5 days. I did eat like a half a pound of steak tonight. I feel this can't be particularly good for me. Anyway. I'm going hiking tomorrow. 8+ miles at what promises to be a pretty good clip. I'm somewhat concerned with what I'll be using to fuel myself. Tonight, I stopped my crazy schedule to have dinner and birthday cake with my husband. Yes, it's a day early.
