What is a big bang?
A big bang is a challenge where authors sign up to write a complete story (minimum word length varies from 10,000 to 50,000) in a set time period.

How do I sign up?
When sign-ups start, there will be one post for authors and one for artists where you can sign up for the challenge.

Hi! So, the idea I would really like to use seems to be more on the fusion side of things than a simple crossover, so I want to clear it with you before I sign up.

I would like to use the world of The Death Gate Cycle, and I would be incorporating both existing characters from that universe as well as various characters from Supernatural. However, the Supernatural characters would be somewhat different, as this does not take place in that world.

Would this be okay?

Oh absolutely, with characters from both it qualifies as a crossover!

Until when the Artist Signups are open? I honestly can't say what reallife will say between April and June.
So could I simply turn up a few days before claiming?

Artist sign ups will stay open right until the preview post of summaries go up!

Question - would you guys accept a 'Verse, with intertwined one-shots, that together made the word count?

I'm sorry but no! Stories need to be a complete stand alone story with a beginning, middle, and end.

Question: Would you accept a crossover-fic that was a sequel to a fic? (As long as there was enough there that no-one really had to read the first one perhaps?)

That sounds absolutely fine! As long as the sequel will be able to stand on its own :D

Thank you! I'll do a rough overview before I definitely commit to ensure it can stand on its own. :)

Question about fusion versus crossover.

The piece I want to do is a lot more fusion than cross over. It's a redo of the Last Unicorn but with Cas and Angels instead of Unicorns. I'd be replacing all the main characters with SPN characters (but not always their jobs or functions), the settings would all be from the book, and the mythos would be blended; ie angel warding etched into Castiel's cage instead of iron bars on the Unicorn's cage, Lucifer bound instead of a Red Bull, Angels trapped in Angel warding at the bottom of the sea instead of Unicorns on the foam. That said, I want to make it as much 'The last Unicorn' as possible with Supernatural characters because I think the two together would be awesome and lush. Is this too much fusion to count for your bb? I've had this idea for a while and have been sitting on it all year waiting for a new season of SPN BB's so I could find it a home with some art.

I love the way it sounds but I do think it is too much of a fusion to count as a crossover. To count as a crossover it has to involve the characters and/or refer to the characters/events of another fandom.
