Stick up for yourself son / never mind what anybody else done

Sometimes I hate the Internet because there is too much information - most of it inane, some of it interesting, precious little of it valuable - but when I make a concerted effort to get off Facebook and at least read some news (or, y'know, paragraphs of text as opposed to onomatopoeic comments), I come across fun reads that I will proceed to share ( Read more... )

The community's kinda not what it was anymore, though? I suppose there are other music blogs out there.

MAYHAPS we will take any potential future offspring to Comic Con together in the future. :>

Your icon took me a while to...comprehend (I am sleepy, I think) but it is v cool! (Also, speaking of cats, I met up with a friend who gave me a belated birthday present and it's a really neat wallet with a cat on it! I thought of you right away when I opened it :D)

Ah, a new comm for me to poke around! I got started with musicforants.com, it's a pretty cool blog with lots of good coverage on new trends.

I like how you write about the difference. I think vinyl's classic, but it's pretty much impractical these days. CDs aren't our generation either, I started listening to music and building up a library only when I got my first laptop. I still try to own CDs by bands I really like though, primarily for all the extras that matter and to support them! I might listen to, say, some googol song because it's a earworm but I'm not about to blow $20 on that!

Hi! How are you? :)

I've heard of musicforants but haven't checked it out before - or not recently, anyway! I will now.

Um I feel stupid but what's a Googol song? Lol.

Eh, I suppose I also wanted to add - I think you have a point about our generation not even fully having claim to CDs, which makes me a little sad really! :C It's like, years of pretty album art, all gone. :C

Actually there was this pretty interesting article in The New Yorker recently about how people are starting to listen to radio-style music again, only online this time round, using websites like Pandora. You can read it here!

Ack iOS and its auto-correct feature. I meant to say hiphop, but it changed it to googol.

I'm alive! And finishing up the last 100 days of army, phew.
