[Action for housemates, neighbors are free to hear Hawkeye smack her Not!husband upside the head =3, later she's hitting the streets!]

-Morning-
[Riza Hawkeye was naturally an early riser. It was the nature of her work. Most of the time, she didn't even need an alarm; she woke just before the sun came up and was ready to go about her day. Today ( Read more... )

Do you know where you are or anything about this place? [ She seems rather stern in her tone. Mayfield isn't the place to be ] This place is awful.

No, I just arrived here two weeks earlier and it's a bit odd. My house is filled with drones. I'm the only girl there.

[Hawkeye frowns, but she nods slightly.] I know I'm in Mayfield. I've heard a little bit about the drones--

[She pauses, blinking twice to shake the image of Lust's Cheshire-cat grin from her memory] I was told they're the bodies that remain from the souls brought into town, and that the souls are being used for energy to power the town.

It sounds remarkably like the premise of the Philosopher's stone. [And by the expression on Hawkeye's face, that is not sitting with her very well.

Hawkeye waits a moment before following up on her earlier queries.] Are you safe alone? If you need somewhere else to stay where there are actual people, I can see what can be done.

I have a pamphlet if you wish to know more. [ She hands you the pamphlet . So, congratulations Hawkeye, there's a chance that things aren't what they're said to be from Lust ]

That's true, but there's also some original people here as well that don't seem to be from any world. They completely blend in here. I can't sense anything regarding this right now, though, the town confiscated my ability to detect twisted life force. When I get it back though, I'll try wherever the souls are held.

[ She'll affirm with a nod ]

The drones aren't hostile, and react to any kind of injury by calling you out for being rude. I'm perfectly fine. It may get a bit unsettling being the only human there, but I'm fine with it.

[Hawkeye skims through the pamphlet briefly, trying to make note of the important details.] May I keep this? [She wished she found the information relieving, but unfortunately it only raised more questions.]

I see. This seems to suggest that none of these droned people are initially from here, that they are just prisoners who have permanently lost all of their free will.

[After a moment, she bows slightly.] If you ever need a break, you are welcome where I'm staying. [Her expression suggests that though she believes Lan Fan's statement of the drones being relatively unlikely to cause harm, that does not translate to them being harmless.]

Sure. I can always get another one. I wrote it down on a note that's kept hidden in one of my draws. [ She doesn't want the drones getting all up in her business anymore. Her screams about how mayfield isn't a real place ended up with her "parents" deciding that maybe she was coming down with the flu or that she needed to embrace more american values or something about her catching Red Fever ]

I don't know. There are some average drones that aren't people missing from their homes, but at the same time, there are some that look amazingly like natives.

[ Lan Fan will remain with her little moe blob line face ] Thanks. Mind telling me what address this is?

[It was only years of undercover work that kept Hawkeye from getting herself into far more trouble this morning. That, and Hol himself being a fairly harmless guy who took her assault in stride. Literally.] All right. I'd like to try and keep all of the information I find.

[She listens to Lan Fan's explanation of the drones, and makes a mental note to keep the information safely stored somewhere.] I see.

Oh, yes--the address is 1247 Williams Road.

[Her gaze softens at Lan Fan's expression, and she frowns. After her conversation with Lust, she realized that though they might all be from the same place they could not be from the same time. It was strange to see Lan Fan again--she had not seen any of the Xingese natives before they left the day of the final battle--while knowing that Ling was successful in all of his endeavors. She smiled.] It's nice to see a friendly familiar face.

[ Well, people always love the type of girl that can kick a man's ass ] If you find anymore, please let me know in person. I do not trust the phone lines. We can meet in your house, or you can deliver it in mail form in my mailbox.

[ She'll offer a brief and concise nod. She hasn't seen Hawkeye since she was wheeled off to the Doctor's house. After Hawkeye forced and separated her from the prince. ] Is someone hostile from home here that I should be aware about?

[Yes, they do.] I will. What is your address?

[When asked about someone else from home being here, she feels the color drain just slightly from her face, and nods, frowning.] I don't know if you've met her, but the homunculus Lust is here as well. [By the way she states this, it is clear that Hawkeye has a higher level of dislike towards Lust than she does for the other homunculi.]

1669 Nelson Street. [ A nod

And then she expresses more interest than anything. She'll also ignore Hawkeye's reaction, she obviously wouldn't want to talk about it ] I never met her back home. She's dead where I'm from though, can this place really revive the dead?

It appears that way.

[Hawkeye frowns, crossing her arms.] The Colonel killed her, but she's clearly alive and well here.

Unfortunately, I'm ill equipped to do anything about her. The homunculi need to die several deaths and the only people that I've seen capable of doing that were alchemists--though in particular the alchemists that the homunculi considered candidates for sacrifice. [She closed her eyes, shaking her head.]

Even if I were armed, there isn't much I can do against her.

I was too busy fighting Gluttony and Envy while all this happened. I was able to nearly kill both of them myself but, Master Ling and I fought them until some guy named Pride called out in a disembodied voice.

[ She nods ] I am aware of their sufficient immortality.[ She doesn't comment on the sacrifice part she doesn't really even know what to say. ]

We could tag team her, but I don't see us being successful if she has her stone back and I'm unarmed and you're... not armed either.

[She crosses her arms, thinking. If she was unarmed--if everything she'd typically have with her at home was gone, what were the chances that the same was true for Lust?]

Everyone who comes here comes without anything they had at home, correct? I wonder if there is a chance that she doesn't have her stone, much like you can't sense the presence of souls as you typically can--what would be an innate skill.

I will be doing what I can to get a firearm as soon as possible, knowing that she is here.

trueguardian July 12 2011, 05:07:20 UTC
That is correct. She may not be able to have her stone immediately but the town doles out the regains at random. Who knows what she has, and if it'd be enough to take her down.

[ She brings up a very valuable point ]

Do you know how long she's been here, and how many of these regains there have been? It seems like nothing here is as arbitrary as it initially seems.

If we can discern the odds of her having regained her stone, we would be better able to decide if it's safe to try and do something about her.

I have no idea. I didn't even know she was here until you told me. It seems that regains when something awful happens. We can probably get someone to discover for us. Maybe we can find out where she lives and ask her husband if she's not a drone?

First, I think we need to see if she's been hostile at all. If she's not causing havoc, there's no reason to take her down. We shouldn't enrage her either, on the odds that she has the stone. Death may be temporary, but I'd rather not be on her bad side.

That might be a good option, but only if we can be certain that asking around won't trigger suspicion.

She is looking for the human sacrifices--Edward, Alphonse, Hohenheim, Izumi, and the Colonel--and evidently some of them have already been here. If we don't do something and one of them returns, we're condemning them to whatever action she decides to take.
