hey

you don't know me and i honestly don't know you, but i do read your journal every now and then and i just thought i'd share something with you. I understand how hard it is to prepare something to talk about (since you are a youth minister, I am also in the same boat as you.) Just remember it isn't anything YOU do. It's God. It isn't your words that bring conviction, it's God's. A lot of stress is taken off your back when you tell God, "ok God, all of You and none of me." It should be your best effort to drown out every bit of you so that Jesus can shine through. You're just a vessel for Him. As long as you are seeking after Him, He will draw near to you. He has to. It's in His word, you see? I hope you don't take offense to any of the above...I was just reading and I deal with this also and I am always having to remind myself that it's not ME, it's Christ...and I'm just doing what is commanded of me (matt 28:19) hope it helps!! :)

It's all gravy dood.
You probably just need the break. I know I've needed the last couple weekends that I went home. Just getting away and not thinking about what's going on here helps a lot. Always remember though, the best and most important things to do are always the hardest and most rewarding things to do. I'm struggling with some tough decisions myself right now, but I know it will pass and things will be fine, and they will be for you too.

So, think about moving in next door and the crazy good times that will be had by all next year, and I'll talk to you later.

Dave

Taylor, I'm sure you're a great youth minister. You've got one of those personalities that people seem to cling to. I'm sorry about your dislike for your major; have you considered something different? Or is your major just a not-so-fun means to a fun end (are you looking forward to your eventual career ( ... )
