i hate to be a debbie downer, but what ever happened to "God told me to propose to my girlfriend" ??

i just need to know reconciliation was made, i guess. i mean, i think people hear God wrong all the time on these sorts of issues, but, i'm guessing, patrick is solid in his heart that that was NOT what he was supposed to do and either he heard wrong or God changed His mind?
