i love my macbook olive.. i like that it has built in virus protection so you never have to worry about turning it on or off, and the software seems alot more streamlined than windows .. i enjoy it

Macbook Pros:
More user friendly
No one makes spyware/viruses for Macs
Macbook Cons:
Generally more expensive
Not compatible with the majority of software on the market
You would need to learn how to use it

Laptop Pros:
Compatible with 99% of all software
Reasonable price
You already know how to use it
Laptop Cons:
Viruses and Spyware
Less user friendly
All laptops being sold are Vista now (Vista sucks)

If you plan on playing any videogames, the Mac is not for you.

If you just want to surf the web and do homework it more or less just comes down to personal choice.
I find most females enjoy the user friendly nature of Macs to be a large selling point. Its very non hassle.
