Ultimately, we did get a new dog. He’s a terrier/Maltese mix and he’s a scruffy looking little dog. I call him Scraps. I think he’s pretty cute. He’s fairly friendly too. My alarm keeps me from being disoriented most mornings when I wake up. It’s been very helpful. There are some mornings, though, where the alarm wakes me up in the middle of a dream. We read The Two Brothers last night! It was quite enjoyable, though much longer than we had been expecting. I’d say it’s one of my favorite Grimm’s Tales. I also really liked Faithful John. I feel better today, though it’s still hard. I wrote for the first time since Tuesday. That helps a lot too. Yesterday was my great aunt’s funeral. It was already a high emotional day for us. We also had to put down our little dog, Copper. He was 15 and a half. His eye sight was pretty bad; he wasn’t very mobile (then became unable to walk around), as far as I could tell he wasn’t suffering before that. He had a very good life, I think.
