Sadly, I found out today that my betta fish has fin rot. I did not realize what this was, having never owned a fish before, until I was looking at fish care sites online. I'm going to try to keep his water clean as best I can, since that seems to be the most common advice. And maybe medicate him, if keeping the water super clean for a week or so

It could be just your area. :( What about some part-time work? It may be back to fast food for people our age for the next few years.

I've actually been trying to find part-time work. That's what makes this even more depressing. :(
And I've wondered if the Portland/Salem area is just bad, jobs-wise. Don't know for sure, though.
