the devils and the caves and the tiny clothing!

Recently in North Carolina, temperatures have soared from ouch to BOIIIING.  From merely too warm for me to ponderous, oppressive, whimper-inducing heights.  In such situations, humans take measures to try to deal with the heat.  My preferred method is staying indoors and taking frequent 15-second cold showers.  Also using bags of frozen vegetables ( Read more... )

Yeah, it's way hotter here. You should visit me to find out for yourself. Or maybe I'll visit you in order to cool off. Do you live near the beach?

nope, I live about 2.5-3 hours away from the beach, and although I would love to make a trip out there, that is most definitely not in the gas budget :(

is it really hotter in Washington? blegh. I know it gets muggy as all hell up there. I'm working on a visit there, I promise!

Yeah, in the 90s, with the heat index bringing it up to 102. But it cooled down to the 80s today.

It's been over 100 degrees in DC, and I have no a/c. No joke. Thank God I'm in the basement, where it's typically 20 degrees cooler than it is outside.

Quarter inch inseams....I can beat that. Wednesday was the first day for teachers to report for summer school and the principal decided to have an 'open house' for the kids to come up and find their classrooms. What did two girls forget to wear to the open house? Pants. They had bikinis and tank tops, yet no coverage on the bottom (besides the skimpy bottoms).

And yesterday was the first day of summer school and today we actually checked dress code (however, we didn't say anything to the girl who had more cleavage showing than I ever really need to see on anyone, ever.

I just don't get it. What is the thought process there? I mean, it's not particularly comfortable to walk around like that. Don't get me wrong, in hindsight I have rued many an outfit I've worn in the past, but usually because I realized it made me look like a bag lady. Not a hooker. I can only hope that these girls grow up to rue their hooker-dressing ways sometime in the not-too-distant future.

Either that or they will become hookers, so the dress will be appropriate. I just don't get kids these days.
