It was too obvious. I could feel my excitement being wheezi-ly expelled even though there's stuff that need figuring out but damn I feel like the drama's not happening.

Although THERE GOES AMY/ELEVEN OUT THE WINDOW ARGH I HEARTED IT.

I sort of...don't mind it? Apart from it kind of putting the nail in the coffin of Amy/Doctor, which by the way surely they are going to have to mention seeing as they have made a big deal of Amy's feelings for the Doctor. Poor girl is going to need even more therapy now!

I'll be honest, beforehand the reason why I disliked the thought so much was largely on a TARDIS OT4 shipping basis, where suddenly my love of them and their obvious behind-the-scenes-sexytimes got really creepy and weird -- but actually, now that's not really the part that bothers me? I feel like Eleven is enough of a spaceslut to where he's like, "Whatever, it's not my fault that the universe is so small and everyone's related!" and can roll with it. Also, it does fit a bit into some of the earlier narrative references made last season. All of the Peter Pan references -- it's kind of like Wendy growing up, and then Peter coming back for her daughter, right? And then also DUDE INDIANA JONES, the Doctor is Elsa, River is Harrison Ford, and Amy is Sean Connery. Obviously. I... am interested to see Amy's reaction, because, WELL, this is where I get all crazy-shippery-defensive but, honestly, even if you don't ship Amy/Eleven, I think you'd be hard pressed to argue that there haven't been serious ongoing references to it for the past two ( ... )

all of this. I still have hope it will work out okay, but right now it's very meh. And I totally didn't notice the Peter Pan stuff--interesting!

I actually didn't like the episode, much. I get sort of embarrassment squick when the show goes on and on and on about how awesome the Doctor is, or fearsome, or whatever. It feels a little too fanboyish : /

That was *totally* his reaction when he found out as well, wasn't it. Oh Eleven, you naughty boy. /Rivervoice.

That's certainly a way of looking at it I hadn't considered - do you mind if I stick with the Peter Pan one just for the sake of my sanity? :-P

plus, I mean, if she's even had trouble dealing with the predestination of the future!Doctor's death, how is she going to deal with raising HER OWN CHILD while knowing her entire future?).Also related to the River being moulded by the Doctor thing, I am so intrigued about how her upbringing actually pans out. Because obviously she didn't turn into a monster, but I'm also afraid that she doesn't spend her babyhood knocking around the TARDIS because as adorable as Eleven speaking baby was, having to get a babysitter before you go and ( ... )
