It's true, though Matty G attempted a coup earlier this week. The dry-erase board rebelled however, and the marker wrote your name back in its rightful place as the eraser did something...undignified to MattyG

Not to menion, you have to use the verb "ser" to describe your personal wealth.
"Yo soy pobre" means "I am poor". Also, for occupation. "Yo soy un portero." "I am a janitor."
So much for social mobility and career changes in Spanish-speaking societies!
