43. The Magicians by Lev Grossman.
44. The Teammates: A Portrait of a Friendship by David Halberstam. Sort of a companion to Summer of '49, and also a loaner from janradder. A slim book, mostly anecdotes of the eponymous teammates--Red Sox Ted Williams, Dominic DiMaggio, Johnny Pesky, and Bobby Doerr. Not a great deal of substance here, but a good summer book for baseball lovers.
