And I have to thank you for getting me back in touch with my old 'ship! It's been a while since I've written anything for them, and dreaming something up has been an interesting lesson in what I've learned after finishing whatever that last story was. (Looking at some of my first posts... gah! >.<)

Question: how many drafts do you usually do? I'm beginning to think I should put more work into editing and second/third drafts than I have been.

I have been writing lately, yes - but not for SG-1. I'll have to get back into the fandom once uni holidays start in 2 weeks and write some more.

I'm beginning to think I should put more work into editing and second/third drafts than I have been.For drabbles, I usually hit on an idea and run with it for as long as I can, which ends up being somewhere around 150-200 words- no censoring, no deleting, just typing/writing until it's finished. Then I go back and check/edit/fix up whatever I have. This particular drabble (230 words) was the product of more than a handful of other attempts (750 words), but that's fairly unusual. Normally I have a solid idea of what I want ( ... )
