cheesy playlist, commence!

so, i made a playlist for my sobriety journey! this playlist starts, metaphorically, in the grips of sadness & addiction - it moves to awareness of a problem, and the decision to change - it journeys through self-discovery and honesty with others, determination through sadness and relapse, and into a general sense of optimism and spiritual clarity ( Read more... )

ahhh, forgot all about that one. yeah, aerosmith probably has more than one song that's totally applicable. i was just using what i had already on my media player, but i have some cds laying around too (can you believe it? i still have the fossils) so maybe i should dig them up.

What a great idea! I, too, am very much moved by music, and sometimes it can just say what I am feeling better than I can.

I really admire your dedication to staying sober, and you've really inspired me. Keep it up - you're doing great - all of these things to distract you and not necessarily "take your mind off it" but at the same time it does - while you're thinking about all of these things, you're remembering why you need to not drink. If you keep doing what you're doing, you're SO gonna make it.

By the way... take it from other sober people - you can and will have fun and live a normal life sober, it just takes some getting used to :)

Thanks for the inspiration.

and i'm very glad i could inspire anyone! haha. i'm trying my hardest to stay busy, to stay THINKING. it's tough, but seems to be working better than nothing.

A great post, must admit music is not my strong side. And I know very few of these songs, but definitely like your playlist ;)
Keeping the brain occupied is such a great thing, and this had me thinking too. Great.

Cheesy perhaps, but a good tune, always made think of the possibilities of change.
