Yukata, specifically. It isn't mandatory, but yukatas are the traditional dress for girls and women during Tanabata.

Yes. Tanabata tends to appear in a lot of slice-of-life anime, so if you're familiar with any of those, you should have a general idea of what the festival entails.

That's one of the traditions, yes. You're given a couple of paper tags to write wishes on, and then hang them on bamboo leaves.

Tanabata...wasn't there some incident that happened on Tanabata three years ago? Something involving a detected communication, or was it a temporal distortion?
