Edit: I did something rare, geeky (and definitely looserish) as I just changed the title from a video game to a song lyric. In my panic, I forgot MY RULES.
Call of Duty: Modern WarfareI just received the dreaded JURY SUMMONS and of course, I do not want to go ( Read more... )

doctors note showing you can't sit for long should get you out of it. medical excuses are valid. or you can just request a postponement, you don't have to give a reason, just say that date is inconvenient and they'll give you another, but you HAVE to show up at that point. i think a doctors note is the way to go in your case.

Thanks. Yeah, I was thinking of that. However, I'm also thinking that I'd love to get it over with by transferring it to the courthouse that I'm at daily anyway. I figure that I won't need to make more than one appearance, but I still don't want to get stuck in a situation where I have to be in another court.

Oddly enough, my mom got Jury Duty summons yesterday also. Her assignment is a different court, 1 week later, but she already did her jury duty this year, so she will get out of it.

I've never served more than a day so maybe best to show up, do work on the laptop, then get dismissed.

I know that I won't be put on a jury and I'll be out in a day, but I don't want to give up $$. Plus, it's not that easy as I have agreements with clients to be in court for them daily.

My only previous jury duty attempt (where I actually had to go) was when Rick James was on trial for torture, kidnapping, etc. I was on the panel so I stayed hoping to get on the jury and write a book.

Once I found out that the jury was filled before they got to me, I used my school excuse to get out. Literally.
