I told you you should've changed your name. Nobody mispronounces 'Smith'. Except for, like, when it's spelled 'Smythe'. I'm never sure how you're meant to say that, you know? It's one of those names where it's easier to just kind of cough in the middle and hope for the best.

Surprisingly, it was my first name that was mispronounced--it ended up sounding like Knee-jeye. Not very flattering.

Graduation ceremonies always struck me as kind of useless too. Mind you I don't like dressing up for anything, least of all in black polyesther on a hot day. Congrats on enduring it without beating anyone over the head with your mortarboard.

Thank-you. Although if I'd been feeling particularly destructive, I think strangulation with my cords would have been a far better method than death-by-mortarboard.

Strangulation might take more finesse but 'Death By Mortarboard' is a far more amusing headline, not to mention a hilarious obituary.
