~ (part eighteen) ~

Morgan steps over to the laptop and kicks the chair out from the desk as he shifts the screen around. "Okay, Garcia, we need to know, where did Hotch and Rossi go?"

On the computer, Garcia looks blank for a second. "Did you try calling them?"

Morgan shakes his head, digging his hands tighter around the desk's edge. "They're not ( Read more... )

So I hope I'm not going to scare you with this post (*smiles hopefully*). But I've been following this amazing story since I recently came into CM fandom and was always too nervous/awed to post feedback. Your writing is just so incredibly good. The language is beautiful, taut -- it's stark, in the best possible way. You manage to impart so much heft and feeling into simple phrases and spot-on glimpses of the characters. Every member of the team is impeccably drawn.

I'm going to go back and post on some of the earlier chapters with my thoughts about what I especially loved (enter the whole scaring you part). ; ) But seriously? This is amazingly well constructed, in terms of plot, characterization, and language. I absolutely love it. It's just wonderful.

No fear here... or freak outs ...and news of my surely nature has been greatly exaggerated. ;D

I confess I don't get out and about much in fandom. I don't read much fanfic, and don't participate in a lot of communities... or any communities, I guess. But I enjoy the writing and am pleased forums for such things exist.

You did get me curious, though, so I stepped over to your journal for a minute. I haven't read your story yet, but at first glance, I have to say, your own writing seems pretty phenomenal. How long have you been writing? Just fandom? Other? I'm looking forward to reading more.

Thank you for letting me know you've been enjoying this story, and for your very kind feedback, and of course, I would love to hear any other thoughts you have. It's nice, sometimes, to know where the readers connect with something, and maybe where they don't.

Take care, and thanks again. :)

Hooray! Gideon cracks the case!

And Reid may still be going crazy :(

But I'm looking forward to how this all wraps up, looks to be very exciting!

I want to know what's up with Gideon. I want Reid to not really be going crazy.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again -- LOVING this. Your writing is so amazing. It's stark, but rich, and you manage to say so much with just a little bit. The interactions between Gideon, Hotch, and Rossi and so great. I would love to see the three of them together on the show. I can't wait to read more.
Also, I know we've talked about his briefly before, but I'm glad that you write gen. I like not worrying about a couple and their world, instead of the team.
Thanks for updating! WAITING BREATHLESSLY!

What is it they always say? It's gotta get worse before it gets better? Something like that? ;)

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts. Wouldn't it be so interesting if they did have those three together on the show at some point? Sad that reality doesn't let us do what fanfic can. :D

Yes, I guess we have talked about the gen thing before. I think I'm the lone gen writer in the fandom. I should worry about that I guess, but, I've never really been a go-with-the-crowd kinda person. ;)

Though I have to say, the readers, whatever their usual reading focus, have been very kind to this fic, and I've appreciated that.

*holds breath* That was, wow, nice! On a separate note, I do hope you finish Spiral, it's been a fav of mine though if your interest in fandom is wavering you might not. Totally understand but here's hoping! Great chapter, I love Reid, the way you write him makes me feel like I'm in his head looking through his eyes. Wonderful!

Thank you, thank you. :) So glad you liked this one.

Regarding Spiral... I hate leaving things undone but everything about that fic feels off to me whenever I pull it out to work on it. Don't know what I'll do about that. I've put it in a drawer for now (literally and figuratively). Once I get this Trompe L'oeil business finished I plan to look at it again. I just don't know if it will get me anywhere.
