So I've been holding off on Telling People All About This, because I've had this paranoid certainty that something could still go wrong, and technically it still can, I could be denied student loans or be run over by the pig truck tomorrow or whatever, BUT not an hour ago I got my first textbook in the mail and it's 1600 pages of cellular biology

Oh, I love biology! In fact I'm rediscovering my love of studying in general =)

Hey, congrats! I'll admit that I have no idea what goes into such a qualification, but I hope the program is both challenging and enjoyable.

And may I just say, as someone else whose twenties didn't exactly progress according to societal assumptions, that I'm taking some inspiration from all of this.

Thanks! Being a pharmacist is basically the next best thing to being an apothecary (no, not the kind with undead horrors). I'll be learning how to prepare and advise patients about prescription medicines.

And societal assumptions can go soak their heads. *grins* Here's to hoping we both end up where we want to be, even if we take the long way round.

It sounds presumptuous but I really think I've grown a lot in the last few years. (Which is a bit ironic - I feel I've changed so much, but my family are all remarking on how good it is to see me return to my old self!) I know what's most important to me, and what kind of person I want to be, even if I can't always live up to that.
