Honestly, it just - flowed. The prompt was a thing of beauty, and the moment I read it this fic was just basically spilling out all over the place. The hardest part was the editing so it made sense! But I'm glad it worked for you; thank you for commenting! =D

It was a surprise that the reason John was appearing to Sherlock because of a coma. I'd assumed that John was dreaming and the dreams were getting him through the three years.

Ooh, I did consider a few other ideas for the time-travelling, and dreams were a strong possibility at one point. Didn't quite fit what the plot needed, though, so I decided a coma was a better idea. Glad it surprised you, at least. =D Thank you for commenting!
