Feels like the first day of a brief holiday today. I taught a class called Tin Box Books at Art From Scrap this morning. A lot of people showed up - I was surprised. I'm at work this Saturday afternoon to record whale calls. It's the first Saturday that I haven't been at the Schott Center wortking with Elaine in the Solar Plate class. Still have a cold today but feeling fairly okay. The weekend was busy with church activities - the Search Committee Retreat and then the Sunday service where I handed out workshop flyers to prospective participants. I've been printmaking for two days. Lovely set of dry point etchings on acrylic plastic. Hope to make three of the prints into books tomorrow. The printing isn't completely consistent so they don't count as an edition but then each "print" has 7 plates so it's hard to expect perfection ( Read more... )

Listening to the CBC - the voices sound too cheerful. My ear has been tuned to NPR for so long that it's those familiar voices that I expect. The old voices - Peter Gkzowsky and Barbara Frumm are long gone. The new voices are too cute, too bouncey, almost insincere ( Read more... )

This was a BIG day for Owen because today he bought himself a computer. Well, Grandma bought him a computer. It is a second hand G4 presently living in London Ontario where Owen discovered it on-line.
