That's one of my favorite things about the HP fandom, too - I tend to think a lot of the best HP fanfic revolve around unseen canon moments ;) I'm so glad you liked this and reaaaally glad somebody commented, as I'm half-afraid most people will get swirly-eyed from the length and just move on. Anyways, the thought of some poor girl ending up with Draco Malfoy really intruiged me, and Astoria sort of just took form on her own.

And I'm relieved that line *wasn't* actually too melodramatic! I was afraid it might be.

*squishes*

(Btw, I have your AD/GG drabbles bookmarked and am totally planning to read them soon *__*)

*FEELS INSANELY FLATTERED*

ITA about Draco - I'm not a huge fan of fanon!Draco at all, but I do quite like canon!Draco because of the unfulfilled potential bit. I'd love to see a fic featuring Draco and Regulus - now that you mention it, it does seem like there's tons to explore there.

I was totally expecting him to end up with Pansy, too, but I'm rather glad he didn't :p

Chantelle, how do you always manage to do this? *_* The prose here is gorgeous (I had to pause and !!! over a couple sentences :D. Some of my favourite parts were the talk between Daphne and Astoria, and Astoria-and-Narcissa interaction, because urg, the language there is just beautiful ♥), and you've managed to make this stranger into someone real and tangible.

♥!

Aww - *squish* - you seriously always know what to say to flatter a girl ;) I was afraid the prose was really rambly and awkward at points, so I'm really glad it didn't come off that way to you. I love writing Narcissa in general, because she seems like such a kickass character, and Astoria was a blast to come up with ;p

omg, I love how this fic is about Astoria. :D (minor typo -- in "Astoria excepts to feel fear", I think you meant expects). I love the way you write.

I'm just surprised that was the only typo you found, as I was way too lazy to go back and spell check this afterwards! :o Thanks for pointing it out, and I'm glad you enjoyed it ♥

I love this fic!
i love how you described Astoria :D

Draco Malfoy receives a lot of howlers.

Astoria burns them to ashes before they get the chance to sing.

Astoria is awesome, so are you ;)

i love this! you have such a way with words. i found it both annoying and refreshing that draco married some random character no one heard of (i mean come on, how likely is it that you meet your soul mate when you're 11 a la the trio?) but the random characters are awesome because then great writers like you can actually breathe life into them :) great job darling!

Thanks so much! ♥ I felt the exact same way about Draco/Astoria, but was rather inclined to like her because I thought she had a pretty cool name (hence the first line of this story, lol). In my head, Nineteen Years Later totally does not exist - Ron/Hermione makes sense for me because there was SO MUCH BUILDUP, but I'm not a Harry/Ginny person at all.

And random characters are totally a fanfic writer's dream - sometimes it's hard to keep within canon, y'know?
