I'm pretty disgusted when I see people react to the news of some atrocity somewhere with an attitude of "Why should we care? That group has done ___ terrible thing in the past." With the situation in Iran right now, I'm seeing comments scattered across the internet saying no one should care because "the Muslims fight with everyone they come in ( Read more... )

The video of Neda's death is so haunting. :(

I would love to give all of those disinterested people a major kick in the butt, put politely. CARE. Or just become educated.

Like you mentioned, people tend to just lump everyone into the same category and fail to see the individual stories and struggles.

I found this quote about Neda and it's been giving me hope: "If an innocent girl gets shot halfway across the world, does she make a sound? Yes, and the whole world hears her."

Yeah. I know not everyone will care about every issue (we all only have so much mental energy, and different priorities), but this "why should I give a damn about those people over there?" attitude irks me.
