I think the whole basis of Balthier/Basch is "they're both male and legal." I can go for just about any combination in the FF cast BUT that, though. Basch just isn't enough of a pretty pretty princess for Balthier, I think.

And I am sort of weird and ship Tomaj/Vaan of all things.

I think it's that whole "They don't really say a lot, and when they do it's clipped and unfriendly! They must be too busy fighting down their erections to be personable!" When it's really that some people just don't get along. Like Zoro and Sanji.
