hi there. I'm Lauren and my boyfriend Tim is in the Army. He's been stationed in Germany for a year and a half and he heads off to Iraq in July.

since this community is hardly ever active anymore, i just wanted to say you should go join militarylove, militarymiss, and army_girlfriend (which isn't just for ARMY girlfriends lol). There are some girls on there whose boyfriends are away at OCS.

and by the way, i live in Daytona... not too far from you.

Thank you! =) I have a friend who is in the Special Forces for the Army and just left Bragg for Iraq...he's gonna send me pictures and keep me posted on how things are over there. How did you deal with your boyfriend first leaving?

lol i dealt with it through a lot of crying, writing him letters, taking a vacation to mexico (while he was at boot camp lol) and scrapbooking. It's good to keep yourself busy. Start a countdown clock, you'll be surprised how fast it goes by. I only have 11 more days until i see mine. It's been nearly 200 since i last saw him. Luckily i'll be moving away and starting college the month after Tim leaves, so hopefully i will find new exciting things to do while he's gone. It honestly never gets easier to say goodbye, and there are ALOT of goodbyes. The only thing i find that has changed is my recovery time. When Tim first went to boot camp, it was a good two weeks before i felt like leaving my house. But the last time he left, i mope around for a day or two and then i'm back to normal lol

I was thinking about going on a cruise acutally! Countdown clock is good. I am slowly getting a little better but I think it's because I found LJ and I'm on it as much as possible! Recovery time eh....lovely! =)

It's okay! I love music, and download a lot all of the time. In fact, I have a playlist of songs that will make me cry. It's just great for when I know I'm about to cry, and I just wanna get it over with! I'll check out that Brian McKnight one...I have the other two! =) If you've got more, send em!
