Sophia was sick last Thursday and Friday, and today is a snow day...soooo a 5 day weekend for me! I never knew having a kid would be such a good way to avoid work haha.
It's also a good way to go home early too. Have a friend call and pretend to be the school calling for you (Or you can just say "that was my daughter's school"), and say you have to go get her, she's running a fever or some such nonesense, and they want you to come get her.
Of course, this only works if the boss won't let you bring the kid to work. If that's the case, then the plan is blown.
Haha, that's a great idea. Lucky for me, I have a job where nobody watches or cares when I come and go. I can basically work whenever I want, as long as I get my work done. Gotta love the academic lifestyle!
I had a friend who was going to bring in a framed photo of herself with her niece to put on her desk at her next job. She was just going to tell everyone she had a daughter, just so she could use it as an excuse not to work late (or leave early). I don't see why it wouldn't work since she tended to do temp work.
At least there are SOME benefits to having a kid! ;)
