i never got star wars. i didn't understand it. my childhood memories of 'return of the jedi' have it ending with luke walking in, kicking ass, and leaving after making his father take off his mask. oops ( Read more... )

oh, yeah. i meant to complain about the blatant shrekification of certain scenes. still, there are some pretty badass movies underneath the new and superfluous bling.

i'm sure i'd prefer the old ones, but i hadn't seen 'star wars' or 'return of the jedi' since my age was a single digit, and i'd never seen 'the empire strikes back' until two days ago.

my only frame of reference is the special edition dvds. i just tried to block out the shrekky stuff.

i still can't believe you never saw empire strikes back. i have no conscious memory of the time before i had all three original movies memorized. i can't remember ever experiencing them for the first time.
