[he was just landing near the fountain (ah, it was still so beautifully symmetrical!) when he heard her. though technically he had already noticed her signature pigtails during this descent.
as he hopped off his board, Beelzebub disappearing into his hand, he gave her a nod.]
Maka. It looks like our timing was perfect. [which pleases him greatly. but it was also nice to finally see Maka again in person.]
[he just nods. sorry, Maka, but there isn't a way to sugarcoat it.
and so he tells her everything that happened-team resonance, Eibon, the battle for Brew and Mosquito, the missions and the infiltration of Arachnophobia's fortress and her eventual demise, him being stuck in Eibon's book (he recounts this rather irritably), his eventual rescue, and how Soul was now a Death Scythe and where everyone stood. including Crona's probable alliance with Medusa, whom they were also searching for.
he said it was a lot. and it was indeed a lot. but he knew Maka would want to know and would more or less handle it all right. granted, he didn't know everything that happened to her specifically, but he could at least give her the overall outline.
[Good thing she was sitting down. Maka's head reeled upon hearing all of this, and she tried in vain to sort it all out. So much had happened in only a few months, and she... hadn't been through any of it. Was this what awaited her when--if?--she returned home?
Frowning, she looks down, still reflecting on what Kid had told her. Her mind jumped from one event to the other, trying to put the pieces together of things she hadn't seen yet. Finally, after a while, she glances up.]
... Everyone's... alright, though?
[Except for Crona, she supposed, who was allegedly gone. Maka felt a pang of sadness at this, as she had been sure that they had gained an ally in that long fight.]

I'm sure you're happy about that.
[There's a pause as she glances around.] This isn't exactly what I pictured when I heard it was a 'dream world.'

[and Dreamberry forms in his hand before he scrolls through the menus to get to said photos.] See? [holds it up to her.]

I guess that wasn't recently...

[She furrows her eyebrows.] So... what happened back home that I don't know about?

[clears his throat as he leans against the edge of the fountain. this was going to take some time.]
The last thing you remember is Kishin's revival, correct?

Yeah. I got knocked out, and that was it.

You may want to sit down. I'll try to keep it brief, but it will take a while.

I'll try not to interrupt, then.

Yes, though the whereabouts of a few others are still unknown. But for the moment we're holding up all right.

[But oh so complicated.]
Thanks for telling me all this. Sorry I... didn't know about it before.
