PRIVATE Harry/Draco though Mille can come over XDsonuvasnitchApril 21 2011, 03:23:54 UTC
[ Harry sits at his normal booth at the back of the speakeasy. He can watch the entire room from this position, and considering it's his job to keep an eye on this place for the mafia and other illegal activities that's what he should be doing. However something else, or rather someone, has Harry's attention entirely. ]
[ Harry had missed the glance and smile though it was unlikely that Draco would miss the deepening frown on Harry's face. ]
So you don't mind then how she flirts with all the men here?
[ He supposed it might be one of those 'at the end of the day' things, but really Harry didn't want to think about that. He'd almost been hoping there was some turmoil between the pair, and that made Harry feel guilty. ]
Then why do you keep staring at me? [he was being forward, he knew, but that hardly made any difference. He could have approached it differently, rounded upon the subject as a lion might circle its prey, but he had left well enough alone for as long as he had known Harry. If left to his own devices, Harry would never utter a word - he was shocked enough to hear that Draco and Mille weren't married, after all. If the truth ever arose, Gods only knew the reaction it would incite.
[So he merely propped his chin up upon his folded hands again, grey eyes locked pointedly on green, unable to hide his faint smile as he waited for his answer.]
[Draco briefly tipped his head to one side, lashes fluttering in a vague sort of blink.] No? I daresay, I've caught you a few times. Not twenty minutes ago, for example.
You are probably the most unsubtle creature to ever grace this planet, darling. [unable to contain his mirth, Draco nearly doubles over in a brief moment of laughter before shaking his head. And don't think for a moment he doesn't see that blush.]
Now answer me honestly: do you think anyone would believe a line like that?
That's what I thought. [their drinks had arrived at some point, but it was only now that Draco took his up, taking a long sip to drain it before rising from his seat and setting the now empty glass down upon the table. He made short work of the distance back to Harry's side of the table, almost looking as though he was simply leaving; before he fully passed, though, he planted one hand on either side of Harry - one on the back of his seat and the other upon the table - in such a way that disallowed any ability to leave without great difficulty.
[Then, in the same quick motion as he had crossed over, Draco leaned down and kissed Harry, mouth firm against the brunet's. Neither did it seem to be the brief type of kiss he offered some of the girls in greeting or otherwise.]
[ Harry's breath caught in his throat. The arms were wholly unnecessary as his body went rigid in mixture of surprise and longing. His eyes closed almost involuntarily as the soft feel of Draco's lips passed onto his own.
It seemed as if an eternity went by as everything in the speakeasy seemed to go quiet and motionless in Harry's mind. ]

You've heard those rumours, haven't you, darling?

[ Harry looks honestly perplexed. ]

Either way, Mille and I have a very...interesting relationship. [he pauses there, watching Harry for any sort of reaction.]

Then the two of you aren't married?

[another pause, and he rolls his eyes in amusement.] Actually, even more importantly: why does it matter so?
Reply
It doesn't.
[ The response to Draco's question came quickly, perhaps too quickly. ]

I wasn't staring. I was thinking in your direction.
