I think that it's just about every production of WWII does it's best to romanticize it. I bet if I watched Full Metal Jacket enough the feelings would be withdrawn.

I'm not saying that the WWII is romantic. It was a bloody shithole. But it was a worthy fight, unlike the bullshit going on right now that I'm involved with. We're pampered today, in comparison to the shitty equipment, faulty rifles, short lifespan, horrible 'K' rations, bloody battles.

If I go, all I have to worry about is a bomb in a fucking dead dog.
