The U.S. has issued one Letter of Marque since the War of 1812. It was issued during WWII and authorized it's holder to hunt Japanese subs. It was issued to the Resolute, one of the Goodyear blimps. Honest-to-goodness airship privateers! How cool is that?

Is there a word that means what "Steam punk" would mean if "Steam punk" didn't mean "Random pieces of old broken clocks glued to things more or less at random?"

I know some of you folks used to Play Kingdom of Loathing. Twilight Heroes is basically the same thing, but with superheros. They say it's in Beta, but it seems perfectly playable to me.

1. Arrange an "accident" for Palin. It doesn't have to be fatal, just bad enough to provide a good excuse to replace her. Sending her moose hunting with Cheney is probably too obvious, plus I'm not at all convinced Cheney could take her.
