So far this week I've had my head busted open with a rock and I've managed to launder my cell phone. Jesus hates me.

Got a new job, again. I'm pretty excited. my car has a new engine and I'm moving to St. Louis in three weeks.

So after discovering that Creative offers nothing in the way of technical support and considering a number of costly alternative fixes (including swapping out the old drive for one out of laptop) we came across a forum entry that recommended we just "smack it a couple times" and lo and behold it worked! Caveman logic totally rules!
