Chapter 2
Feeling worried, JaeJoong sat nervously in his room. In a few hours he was married to ChangMin. It seemed that it was normal within the vampire community that you could get married even when you’re underage. But JaeJoong wasn’t worried about that, he was worried about the wedding night! He didn’t know he was ready for it…
‘’My lord?’’ a servant came in to his room and bowed deeply for JaeJoong. The servant held a white suit up and motioned him to stand up. More servants came In the room and before JaeJoong knew what was happening , he was being dress, his hair was styled , they even put on make-up! His nose wrinkled as one of the servants sprayed a strong perfume on him.
Finally, after what seemed like hours, the servants left and left him alone, dressed up in his room. In exactly in hour and twenty minutes he would be standing in front of the altar and would say his yes word to the vampire who he was almost his whole life engaged to.
Restless, he stood up and opened the door. In the corridor were like always a couple of vampires on guard. The vampires stood there specially for his safety. ChangMin had wanted to explain to him why he was being guarded and why his parents were killed but he didn’t want to hear it.
Since he stayed with ChangMin, he had found out a lot about himself. He was a real prince, the heir of the ancient Kim family. His family supposedly had old vampire powers within them… JaeJoong would inherit the powers on his eighteen birthday. What the power was, he did not know, nor good he find anything about it… JaeJoong had asked ChangMin about this , since he is a prince too. ChangMin only nodded but didn’t tell much. ‘’ When you have the powers, it will all be clear’’ he had said.
He also started to remember the small things. His favorite toy that he always had played with, a stuffed animal that he slept with… JaeJoong remembered a face too, but he couldn’t identify who it was. A vampire , just like him. They had been the same age and played together. If only he could place a name with that face…
Softly he closed the door from his room and looked back at his reflection, realising how lucky he had been to even be alive. Slowly, JaeJoong opened his mouth and studied his canines. His teeth were growing faster now that he could drink blood daily. And ChangMin thought that in three weeks , his teeth would be like any other normal vampire.
‘’My lord, it’s time’’ One of the servants opened the door. JaeJoong nodded at the man and felt warm inside. It was really going to happen, he was going to marry ChangMin! Clumsily , he stood up and in his nervousness he almost fell on the floor when his feet got stuck behind the carpet. With a nervous laugh, he balanced and walked behind the servant.
Outside stood a blinking car waiting for him that would bring him to the church. JaeJoong sighed in relief when a couple of guards drove their cars behind his and he felt more secure. This was the first time he had been outside after ChangMin had rescued him.
The car stopped driving after a couple of minutes in front of a small , but beautiful church. Vampires were everywhere. Men, women, even children! And everybody was looking at the car he was in! JaeJoong would have prefer to close the doors and not come out, but he had too…
The guards now stood in front of his car door, in half a circle like a shield. The door opened and a servant helped JaeJoong getting out of the car.
Immediately after JaeJoong had stepped out of the car, cheers were heard from the crowd. ‘’Welcome back Prince Kim JaeJoong!’’ some more yelling and cheering towards JaeJoong but there was too much noise to hear what they all said.
The normal vampires weren’t allowed in to the church, everyone was held back who still tried to slip inside. Everywhere hand flowers in the room and the only light from the church was the candle lights.
In front of the altar stood ChangMin, in a nice black suit. His full attention was towards JaeJoong. Next to ChangMin stood another vampire, also in a suit. Curiously JaeJoong wondered who all these people were… JaeJoong looked back at ChangMin and his mouth went dry. ChangMin looked good and soon he was his!
“Prince Kim JaeJoong, do you take Prince Shim ChangMin as your lawful wedded husband and promise to be faithful to the him and the law? What is your answer? “ JaeJoong held ChangMin’s hands in his own and looked directly in to his eyes as he spoke. “Yes…” ChangMin smiled and waited patiently for the vampire to continue. “You may kiss the bride” ChangMin bend down so he could meet JaeJoong’s lips and kissed him, slow and passionate.
The public, all the important vampires clapped their hands and whispered excitedly at each other when the couple kissed. Unnoted, one of the vampires ran outside and said as loud as he could to the crowd. “An applause for Shim JaeJoong and Shim ChangMin, our masters!” immediately , everyone jumped up and the conversations started to flow with laughter, clapping and cheering. The vampires hoped that, now the princes were married, they could win the bloodied war against the hunters.

Hyun Su stood still in front of the window, staring through his night vision at the church where a big crowd of vampires had assembled. To his horror he saw the vampire, the kid from the Kim family get out of the car. The news that the vampire had escaped was well known to the hunters among and considered a great loss.
Hyun Su knew what was going on, thought he had no hard proofs. The vampire prince, Shim ChangMin married Kim JaeJoong, a tactical move, one that surely meant war. The vampire were getting power and would become too strong if they didn’t step up. Hyun Su walked around in the room when the public started to cheer and clenched his jaws. The boy, JaeJoong had to be captured or killed before he turned eighteen!
Hyun Su decided it was time for the other hunters to assemble and to make plans. The older vampire, Shim ChangMin , eliminating him was out of the question. That bloodsucker was too powerful to attack without any special weapons. No, they had to killed the unskilled younger vampire now he didn’t have the powers yet. Hyun Su grabbed a mobile phone from his pocket and called his master, the one who made all the decisions.
“…Yes, they are married, we feared the worst! We have to kill the kid now or else he becomes stronger. … no, I’m not in the position to kill him now. There are about two hundred vampires between me and the kid! Killing the kid now would mean suicide” Hyun Su placed his phone back in his pocket and with one last look out of the window he opened the backdoor and went outside.
Tonight they couldn’t attack, but when the sun rose in the sky, those bloodsuckers were getting a big surprise!

JaeJoong saw how one by one the vampires stood up and looked at him and ChangMin. All bowed so deeply and respectful and offered him and ChangMin gifts. What was in it, JaeJoong didn’t know yet, there was simply too little time to open up every present! JaeJoong and ChangMin nodded politely at the vampires, and listened to their best wishes.
Slowly, the vampires were leaded towards the big hall and towards the banquet. Everywhere stood wine glasses in which JaeJoong suspected were filled with something else than blood. Food, from the best qualities layed on the trays on the table and several servants walked around the room.
ChangMin wrapped his arm around his husband’s and brought hi mto the larger table. Immediately when the pair walked towards the table, the servants stood up and slided their chairs backwards for their masters. Glasses were filled and like JaeJoong suspected, with blood.
Laughing and talking could be heard everywhere in the room. The many blood odors overwhelmed JaeJoong, who still wasn’t used to the smell of so much blood In one room. Also, the fact that everyone seemed to look at him and observed him made him more nervous.
Many vampires had thought that their beloved prince, Kim JaeJoong had been killed. The fact that JaeJoong was now on the side of ChangMin caused a lot of excitement. ChangMin had warned him for the reactions of the people and told him to stay calm and behave well. Every movement JaeJoong made was followed and everyone he spoke with was being overheard.
ChangMin held JaeJoong’s hand under the table and squeezed it softly.
“We can go home soon” ChangMin announced a few hours later. The time had flown by as JaeJoong had asked for the time. It would be light in a few hours. “ChangMin?” JaeJoong asked softly and came closer to his husband. “What happens if a vampire walks in the sunlight?” ChangMin looked up amazed before he answered. “Nothing” he answered. “You become tired, loose your powers as long as you walk in the light and aren’t much stronger as a normal human being. The light is too bright for our eyes and therefore we can’t see well either and our senses are being suppressed. And even when you go back to the dark , you will still feel a bit weakened .
All those legends about burning and extremely painful death are just fairytales from the people. Hollywood, the movie industry and a lot of writers have adjusted the real meaning. Vampires can eat or smell garlic, they are not afraid of crosses and do not have to be invited in to other people’s houses before they come in. “ ChangMin smirked when he saw the surprised look from JaeJoong and promised to tell him more about the legends.
“Come” he said and stood up. Silence fell immediately when the two stood up. “My wife and I would wish everyone a good night and we want to thank everyone for coming. I would like to request for everyone to leave now that our houses are still in the darkness…”
JaeJoong left hand in hand with ChangMin the room and stepped in the car, not conscious about a pair of eyes looking at him and ChangMin. Even the two princes weren’t aware of the danger lying ahead…
JaeJoong held ChangMin’s hand even when they entered their house and he was surprised when he saw that the house was empty. No servants, no guards..no one! JaeJoong had noticed that the guards from earlier had not followed them inside but stayed on unusual places. ChangMin saw how JaeJoong was looking around and squeezed his hand again. “We don’t want to be disturbed tonight…” JaeJoong held his embarrassed head low, he knew exactly what ChangMin meant.
ChangMin saw the concerned look in JaeJoong’s eyes and doubted for a moment. He wasn’t sure if JaeJoong was ready for all this. He was only sixteen and didn’t have any experience like many his age. Arriving at ChangMin’s room , he stood still . “Jae…you know you don’t have to do this right? If you feel like you’re not ready…” JaeJoong bit his lower lip in thought. “I..i want to , but…” he began and felt his cheeks blazing. “I don’t know ow…” ChangMin saw how JaeJoong was looking at the ground and wrapped comforting arms around him. “I’ll show you…” he whispered in JaeJoong’s ear and unbuttoned his wedding suit.
