LJIdol, Topic 9: "Counterintuitive"

As we approach the vivid purple awning that denotes the walkway's opening, I pull off my glasses and pass them to my best friend's mother. Immediately, my world is plunged into something comprised entirely of chaotic bokeh; shapes and depths lose their meaning and my fumbling forward is defined only by the hazy balls of color that I pass. My best ( Read more... )

I love scary rollercoasters. I'm absolutely terrified of heights, so it goes against my very nature and I'm always terrified going up that first big hill... But the adrenaline and the excitement keep me coming back for more. I'm an addict. Good job :)

Thanks! I actually developed an addiction to them myself after this incident (as it was the first time I had braved one with an upside down loop.) They're a complete blast NOW, but back then I was such a chicken. Thank you for reading!

I have a very odd, long history with roller coasters, going all the way back to when I was 5 and my parents strapped me into Space Mountain at Disney World. When the Georgia Cyclone at Six Flags opened, I suddenly developed a mutual respect and fear of the devices.

There's some really good imagery here.

I always come off of rollercoasters looking absolutely horrified, pale as a sheet, and somehow always wind up wanting to go again. Odd relationships are sometimes the best, haha. Thank you for reading it :)

I don't mind them so much now, but they pretty much scared the dickens out of me during my adolescence and part of my teen years.
