I just wanted to give a thanks to
obtrectation for introducing me to some of his gorgeous friends at Tranz tonight.
It felt really good to let go and give my body movements to the dance music. I haven't done that in over a year. Oof.
And my God there were a lot of beautiful people there this time around! If my eyes weren't fixed on a pretty pale package laced up in a corsette, I was staring at gothic versions of classic pinup models gyrating next to each other. Me without a proper pair of boots to stomp in.
I think I was dancing next to
alluded_entropy for a little while, along with a series of other very pretty leather clad vixens.
There was a dude there who must've been 6'6" in what looked like white pajamas and a cotton knit cap. Steve and I called him the white giant, as he was built like a sherman tank, and he was dancing with a couple of semi-attractive waifs (they were very pretty, just not my type; way too skinny), exhibiting moves that indicated he was obviously a trained (or very experienced) swing/latin dancer. I really need to go back to school and relearn and hone those moves. I'm sick of kicking around and wiggling my butt to 4/4 industrial trance like an idiot. I want to seduce on the dance floor, not stomp it into submission...okay, so I want to do both.
Of course, I wasn't there to really meet people tonight as much as I was to get out of the house, sketch a few dancers and release some of this pent up energy by dancing.
I was dressed in my nice black slacks again, shined dress shoes, black tank top underneath a black synthetic long sleeve that slid around my shoulders as I moved to the music. I still felt out of place in this den of weirdos. I mean, I could have experienced the same thing at Hot Pink or Axis/Radius or Sky Lounge or name-a-club-with-a-dance-floor. I have no game to play. I'm poor, I'm in between jobs, I live in a tiny bedroom that's usually draped with dirty laundry and I just broke up with somebody. I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me?
Looks like there's going to be a big celebrity turnout for this year's Phoenix Film Festival. I'll be bringing the camera with me for this adventure.
