So, prednisone is not my friend. As far as I can tell, it's not doing much of anything for my eye or back/leg, and the side effects are pretty terrible. I have a little bit of puffiness going on, but the fatigue and the WHOLE body pain/tenderness is a bit much. Well, all the labwork came back normal. Which is good -- no lupus, vitamin deficiencies or other weird stuff going on. Bad news, though, is that that points even more strongly to MS. Doc now says...."walking like a duck, quacking like a duck, and flying like a duck"...but still not quite willing to call it a duck just yet (up to about 75% ( Read more... )

By the way, a note to all you doctor and medical types -- calling a patient at home at night on the same day that they have extensive labwork done is a surefire way to start a panic attack!

I had my followup with the neurologist this morning...and evening...

So, I *would've* have my MRI on Monday, IF the doctor's office and insurance company hadn't both waited until the last minute to do my pre-cert. And, since those suckers are expensive, I wasn't willing to go have it done without approval. Now mind you, the MRI appt was scheduled for Jan. 19th. and was set up on Jan 5th. My personal trainer this morning thought I was 25!! My new "clean living" and working out is paying off I guess. Then she proceeded to ask me other questions -- I think she has some matchmaking plans. Oh dear!

So I saw the neurologist on Mon. He's not exactly warm and fuzzy, but I liked him a lot anyhow. All business and no b.s. Anyway, he gave me a few more scary things to think about, but I have decided that I am not going to go there unless/until a reason to.
