Ok, quick entry because I have to catch a train to Castellon soon.

Yesterday was my only day of class this week. I love only having two day school weeks, and when one of those days is canceled for a national holiday... well it's party time people! it is really sad that they kill the bull at the end. I portugual, they also have a similar form of bullfighting, but they don´t kill the bull.

and what you said about the illusion of human superority is very true. one interesting thing i noticed in the bullfight was that that illusion was both celebrated, and put to the test with each new bull. there were several times a torredor almost got himself killed.

Guys poke bull with sharpened phalluses. Bull bleeds to death. Everybody cheers.

most people know that part. i wanted to explain how the whole thing happens. besides, the bull doesn´t actually bleed to death, the matador either kills it with a sword, or if he fails, one of the torredors kills it with a dagger when it is on the ground. still gruesome though.
