How 'bout "discussing" instead of arguing? I find it thrilling really. I do hate that I have to choose between a strong, experienced woman (great choice) and a brilliant, energizing black man (great choice) and am really, REALLY struggling on who I should vote for on March 4th. But, yes, it's a good place, isn't it?
Can you make some dinner for me and my sons, too, while you're at it? I'm feeling a bit lazy but am very hungry.
Sure, no problem! But I hope you like fish. Tonight is "healthy" night since last night was Chinese take out. So, it's white fish with some spices, tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach and some bread. Oh, and some cake for dessert, so no longer healthy! :-D
If I could I would definitely send you some food (though it wouldn't be edible). You work too hard!
I agree with you on just about everything (I'd be happy enough if the race was decided on April 22 in PA ;D). And yes, I also think Hillary is smart and would be happy with her. I'm afraid of her losing to McCain, though, especially if Nader enters the race (which I heard a rumor of today). But who knows ...
Hope you're doing well! Sorry I haven't been commenting much lately. I'm so glad to "see" you, though! *hugs*
Thanks! Hopefully the trial will end in the next few days, or early next week at the latest. I'm over my disgruntlement, and today was a lot better traffic-wise.
I enjoyed listening to the political recap this morning on NPR and contrasting it with my local station's recap. For the first time in a very long time, it's going to be a very interesting election.
I appear to be the only person at work who isn't breathlessly following the election. I think that's because I can't get enthusiastic about politicians. They inevitably let me down. ;-)
Read a news story from the WSJ about the undecided political races dividing the parties and the nation ... does anyone else out there think this is actually refreshing? Why can't people argue? Since when were we all supposed to fall in line behind one candidate immediately? Sure, that's what happened in the past, but perhaps this is a good development for government?
True, the attacks about people's personal lives are not cool. But arguing about leadership and specific issues like health care and the war? Isn't that what we're SUPPOSED to be doing? I think the media is just getting tired and needs a new conflict to discuss. *sticks tongue out at media*The lining up behind one candidate has been a relatively recent advent to American Politics. Let's look at a few elections that have had political dissent. Hmmm...how about the election for the 2nd president. Practically a 3 way tie--two radically differing opponents and that other guy. (Between Adams--a federalist, Jefferson--an antifederalist, and Aaron Burr--the guy who later

I love it when historians get excited about current events. It's so much more interesting than listening to the pundits who don't know what happened more than 20 years ago! :-D
Great analysis ... good to be reminded of the messiness of past elections.
Current elections are not messy. They are usually just ugly--especially since the advent of mass media. ;)
But the messier the election, the more likely the president would make changes. *fingers crossed* I'd personally settle for a president & Congress to realize that NCLB is a ridiculously high standard that very few schools can truly attain. And that those schools like mine, will forever be labeled with yet another negative label due to circumstances beyond the teacher/school's control. (Read: home environment).

It's always good to see you, too! Hope you don't have to deal with crazy Cali traffic again for a while ... probably a useless wish, I know. ;-D

Sorry it took me so long to reply. The combination of my schedule and my natural laziness are really bogging me down at the moment!
Do hope you're doing well!
