My head is empty

Oct 19, 2008 14:30

When I've said nothing for a long while, I like to say nothing for even longer in the hopes that my silence - oh, that sounds more meaningful than true - suggests busyness or mystery or, at the very least, an implied decision to abandon LJ ( Read more... )

You make routine sound attractive, even poetic. I in the same circumstances would be guilt-ridden and anxious, yet unable to break the inertia. I much prefer your nuanced observation and appreciation -- although, honestly, there's nothing empty headed about it.

And you make me feel much more awesome than I have any right to feel. ;-D

How's life treating you? Have your cats decided who they're voting for in the election? :-D My cats are thinking about Nader; I've tried to explain to them that he won't win and that Obama is very inspirational. And then one of my cats said, "Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeow," which I took to mean that she'd rather vote for Bob Barr or even the candidate - what's his name? Baldwin? - endorsed by the Alaska Independence Party (who needs those sledding dogs in our country anyway?) - than Obama. What can I say. My cats aren't very open-minded.

Do hope you're doing well!

Show your cats this: http://catsforobama.com/

I'm contemplating a leap into the loony end of the pool, but other than that, life's normal.

It should be against the laws of the universe to develop an allergy to chocolate and peanut ice cream (or chocolate and peanut butter anything).

Thanks for the support, and sorry it took so darn long to respond!

*snicker* I must agree. Empty head is easier than doing what needs to be done--which in my case is grading papers.

*sigh*

and yes, cookie dough is considerate. And it is considering calling my name. I'm just not sure if I'm hearing the chocolate chunk or the white chocolate macadamia nut. *listens more closely* I think it may be the chocolate chunk.

and Mondays are meant to be dreaded. If they weren't we'd just have to find another day to fill that position. (And for the record, teaching does that to you. Every teacher I know feels that way at some time.)

Now, listen to the cookie dough. One cookie will help you put the rest of this in perspective.

*hugs*

*toodles off to get cookie dough and next pirate romance novel*

Lol!

Glad to hear I'm not the only teacher who dreads Mondays. Once they get going, they're not bad. But the prospect of acting like a responsible adult again ... ahhhh! (You're a parent, so you're probably almost always responsible.)

How was the pirate romance novel?

I've read 2. Both were OK. One, that I got from the clearance section of the local 1/2 price book store, was actually a 'teen romance' so it was simply OK. Nice plotting. Good character development...but no smut. ;) The other was wonderfully smutty piece of piracy. I really enjoyed both, but c'mon which is the better read? Smut of course. ;)

I've got to go check my stash of unread books. I think I'm out of pirates and have to revert back to men in kilts. (Hi. I'm queenp. I'm a historical romance addict. My favorites are those men who wear kilts--at any point in time from 800-present.)

And yes, the responsibility of Mondays just sucks. On the positive side, I don't have to have that responsibility until noon tomorrow. :) Unfortunately, I've got to go see the leech for who knows what kinds of tests to determine why my thyroid is low.

Thanks!

Your icon ... um, I should know who that is, right? Is that the dude - not THE DUDE - from the Big Lebowski (spelling)? Or is that from that movie that I did not understand at all because I'm too stupid - No Country For Old Men? Or none of the above?

It is Sam Elliot. In a lot of stuff...war and cowboy type movies especially. Voice to make you whimper...Used to do the "Beef. It's what's for dinner." commercials. And looking him up, yes he was in The Big Lebowski as the stranger. (I've not seen that movie.)
