Read for class. Seriously depressing. Seriously, seriously depressing. The translation is a bit weird, too, but that is due in part to how the original was written (and rewritten). I don't recommend it.

Two short stories by the author of Kamikaze Girls, these are considerably darker in tone than that novel. I quite enjoyed them, but fair warning: don't read these when you're depressed.
