LJ Idol Season 11: Resolution

I could use both hands, take off my shoes (and yours), and still not have enough digits to count the number of times I've tried to lose weight. It's been a lifelong struggle.

But there I was, 3 months before my 45th birthday, in the Doctor's office and my labs had come back. He pointed at the red number.

*hugs* I have been there. This hip issue is killing me and I need to get back on the exercise wagon-- because I have regained a little and I want it gone again. But three years out, I'm still down 50lbs from my LOWEST pre-surgery weight. No regrets!

Weight struggles are so hard. At one point I had a really active job, and I lost 60 lbs in a year, and was like, ok I'm staying here for good, but sadly, since then (11 yrs ago), I gained 110 lbs. Anxiety, depression, other life issues... it's a struggle. But it's nice to see things working out well for people, as a reminder that it IS possible. Congrats - You're clearly working hard!

Anxiety and depression are big contributing factors to weight gain. And unfortunately, the medications used to treat those disorders frequently don't help.

Nice work! I have a really close friend who has recently been going through something similar. It's a challenge, while habits take time to develop, but it gets easier. I gave up soda a long time ago and I don't miss it.

Congratulations! I think weight issues are something that so many of us can relate to... I put on a massive amount of weight in my 20's because of psychiatric medication which messed up my metabolism, made me too tired to exercise, and I was just eating junk all the time. Now I am off the meds and the weight is coming off but it's a very slow process.

Good luck with it! I know how hard it is to drop weight, especially the older we get.
