Yesterday I received my very first junk mail in Japan. And not just one thing, but two! I got one from a cable company and one from the unfortunately named "Mos Burger." I feel totally integrated into Japanese society now.

Yesterday was my first day at work and the students' first day back to school after summer vacation. Work is going pretty well so far, although it's also pretty tiring. I just made a tuna and seaweed sandwich. The other day, I made "spaghetti" out of soba (Japanese buckwheat noodles) and this weird herby mushroom sauce. It's internationalization run amok in my kitchen!

So I finally know where exactly I'll be in Japan, yay! Looks I'll be in a town called Tatsuno in the prefecture of Nagano. Nagano is pretty much in the center of Japan, and Tatsuno is pretty much in the center of Nagano. Tatsuno has its very own amusing, English language website, and a population of 23,000! Go Tatsuno!
